What to consider when buying your New Washing Machine

When looking for a new washing machine it can be a headache finding the right washing machine for your needs. Below is a few points to consider when your ready to start looking for a washing machine if your old one has broken or died of old age.

How many people will it be washing for?

When there are so many appliances on the market in all different wash sizes its hard to know which would be the best one for you. If it will only be washing for 2 people then a 6kg or 7kg wash load would be best suited, but washing bedding or washing for a family of four or more would struggle. That is why the larger wash capacity washing machines like the 9kg, 10kg and even 12kg would be better suited to deal with a greater wash load.

Energy Efficiency?

Energy saving is the main concern that appliance manufacturers have when making any appliance in this day and age. Most washing machines now are rated A+++ which is 60% better than A rated. This is good and also bad when you are thinking of replacing your next appliance, the advantages to it is that you are saving money on electricity and money on water consumption. The only disadvantage is that all the wash times are a lot longer than washing machines 15 years ago but most washing machines will have quick washes on so you can get it done quicker if you need your washing done in a hurry.

Spin Speed?

With the different spin speeds available today if you were given something washed and spun at 1200 Rpm to something wash and spun at 1600 Rpm, you wouldn't really see any difference. 1600 Rpm is better for wet towels but some thinner clothes items can get damaged with much faster spin speeds, that is why it is good to have a washing machine that you can reduce the spin speed if needed. A lot of consumers will decide that 1400 Rpm is best suited to a family house hold.

Which brands to choice?

There are lots of appliance brands to choice from when looking for a new washing machine. Some brands include Bosch, Hotpoint, Beko, Miele, Aeg, Indesit, Montpellier, Zanussi and many more. If you are looking at going for high quality or not looking to spend a huge amount of money there are plenty of brands to choose from. Bosch tend to be better for saving the most energy, Hotpoint and indesit have been rated the top 2 brand by TripAdvisor for 2019.

Colour?

This may sound silly but choosing what colour your new appliance is going to be can be a hard decision. The most popular colour is White but there are plenty of other colours to choose from. Some manufacturers dont have many colours to choose from in there range but most of the choice is white, black, graphite and sometimes stainless steel. Colours that are very rarely seen today are racing green, cream and burgundy.
